Oscar 2018 Nominees Announced


The 90th anniversary Oscar 2018 nominees have been just announced online. As predicted, the main battle is to be fought by two pictures, already spotlighted at the Golden Globes - The Shape of Water by Guillermo del Toro, which got the largest number of nominations (13) and Three Billboards Outside Ebbing, Missouri by Martin McDonagh.

Christopher Nolan's Dunkirk is the second with eight nominations, though most of them (except Best Picture) are for technical features. The mentioned above Three Billboards Outside Ebbing Missouri received seven nominations, including 2 (Woody Harrelson and Sam Rockwell) for an Actor in a Supporting Role, Actress in a Leading Role (Francis McDormand), Original Screenplay and Original Score, though no nomination for Directing. Surprisingly, a horror comedy Get Out made up to the Best Picture, Directing and Actor in a Leading Role nominations whereas Blade Runner 2049 was left only with technical nominations.
