ACTION/THRILLER

Pandemic Director: John Suits Written by: Dustin T. Benson Starring: Rachel Nichols, Alfie Allen, Missi Pyle, Danielle Rose Russel, Paul Guilfoyle, Pat Healy, Mekhi Phifer Plot Synopsis: The film is set in the near future, where a virus of epic proportions has overtaken the planet. There are more infected than uninfected, and humanity is losing its grip on survival. Its only hope is finding a cure and keeping the infected contained. Lauren (Rachel Nichols) is a doctor, who, after the fall of New York, comes to Los Angeles to lead the charge in the hunt for uninfected civilian survivors. Lauren's objective is simple – lead her team into the field and rescue survivors. Lauren and her team: Gunner (tactical command), Denise (navigation), and Wheeler (driver), put on their anti-contamination suits, complete with cameras so their experiences can be used for research, and leave the compound. But nothing could have prepared them for the mayhem they are about to walk into. The film features non-stop action from a first person shooter perspective (FPS), putting the audience in the middle of every fight whilst feeling in control of every punch thrown and shot fired.

Hardcore Henry Director: Ilya Naishuller Written by: Ilya Naishuller, Will Stewart Starring: Sharlto Copley, Haley Bennet, Danila Kozlovsky Plot Synopsis: A first-person action film from the eyes of Henry, who's resurrected from death with no memory. He must discover his identity and save his wife from a warlord with a plan to bio-engineer soldiers.

Mr Right Director: Paco Cabezas Written by: Max Landis Starring: Sam Rockwell, Anna Kendrick, Tim Roth, RZA, Anson Mount, James Ransone, Michael Eklund Plot Synopsis: Hyperactive at the best of times, Martha (Anna Kendrick) has gone full-on manic since her latest breakup. She babbles, parties like a monster, cooks everything in sight — and is looking to do something terrible when she meets Francis (Sam Rockwell). To anyone else, Francis's approach would come across as creepy, but Martha can't help but be intrigued. They seem a perfect match: she's bananas, he's bananas… except he's a deadly sort of bananas. He's a professional assassin. Francis is a hitman with a cause: he unexpectedly kills the people ordering the hits. Just as Martha begins to realize her new beau wasn't joking when he said he had to step out for a moment to shoot someone, things start heating up for Francis. His services are solicited by a dubious client who's being sought by an equally dubious FBI agent (Tim Roth). As the bodies pile up, Martha needs to decide whether to flee or join in the mayhem.

Criminal Director: Ariel Vromen Written by: Douglas Cook, David Weisberg Starring: Kevin Costner, Gary Oldman, Tommy Lee Jones, Alice Eve, Ryan Reynolds, Gal Gadot, Jordi Molla, Michael Pitt, Antje Traue Plot Synopsis: The story of the right man in the wrong body. In a last-ditch effort to stop a diabolical plot, a dead CIA operative’s memories, secrets, and skills are implanted into an unpredictable and dangerous death-row inmate in hopes the he will complete the operative’s mission.

Director: Jeremy Saulnier Written by: Jeremy Saulnier Starring: Patrick Stewart, Anton Yelchin, Imogen Poots, Alia Shawkat, Joe Cole, Callum Turner, Mark Webber, Kai Lennox, Eric Edelstein, Macon Blair Plot Synopsis: In the crime thriller GREEN ROOM, a young punk rock band find themselves trapped in a secluded venue after stumbling upon a horrific act of violence, fighting for their lives against a gang of white power skinheads intent on eliminating all witnesses. Bastille Day Director: James Watkins, Jill Gage Written by: Andrew Baldwin Starring: Idris Elba, Richard Madden, Kelly Reilly, Anatol Yusef, Charlotte Le Bon Plot Synopsis: Michael Mason (Richard Madden) is an American pickpocket living in Paris who finds himself in the hands of the CIA when he steals a bag that contains more than just a wallet. Sean Briar (Idris Elba), the field agent on the case, soon realizes that Michael is just a pawn in a much bigger game and is also his best asset to uncover a large-scale criminal conspiracy in the heart of the police force. Going against commands, Briar recruits Michael to help quickly track down the source of the corruption. As a 24hr chase ensues, the unlikely duo discover they are both targets and must rely upon each other in order to take down a common enemy.

Precious Cargo Director: Max Adams Written by: Paul V. To clear his name, Nick must expose the dirty cops who committed the crime (Bill Paxton, Mike Epps, Shea Whigham). Demolition Director: Jean-Marc Vallee Written by: Bryan Sipe Starring: Jake Gyllenhaal, Naomi Watts, Chris Cooper, Judah Lewis Plot Synopsis: Davis (Jake Gyllenhaal), a successful investment banker, struggles after losing his wife in a tragic car crash. A Hologram for the King Director: Tom Tykwer Written by: Tom Tykwer, Dave Eggers Starring: Tom Hanks Plot Synopsis: A failed American businessman (Tom Hanks) looks to recoup his losses by traveling to Saudi Arabia and selling his idea to a wealthy monarch.

The Driftless Area Director: Zachary Sluser Written by: Zachary Sluser, Tom Drury Starring: Anton Yelchin, Zooey Deschanel, John Hwakes, Alia Shawkat, Frank Langella, Aubrey Plaza, Ciaran Hinds Plot Synopsis: A bartender (Anton Yelchin) comes back to his hometown after his parents die, and finds himself in a dangerous situation involving a mysterious woman (Zooey Deschanel) and a violent criminal (John Hawkes).

Mother's Day 2016 Director: Garry Marshall Written by: Tom Hines, Lily Hollander, Anya Kochoff, Matthew Walker Starring: Jennifer Aniston, Julia Roberts, Kate Hudson, Jason Sudeikis, Britt Robertson, Margo Martindale, Timothy Olyphant Plot Synopsis: Intersecting stories with different moms collide on Mother's Day. Julia Roberts is playing Miranda, a television host; Jennifer Aniston portrays Sandy, a recent divorcée looking for love; and Kate Hudson is Jesse, a mom who seeks to strengthen her relationship with her own mother. The cast also includes Jason Sudeikis as a Mr. Mom-type who connects with Sandy. Motherhood of many forms is celebrated in the film.

HORROR


The Hoarder Director: Matt Winn Written by: James Handel, Matt Winn, Chris Denne Starring: Mischa Barton, Robert Knepper, Emily Atack Plot Synopsis: Ella (Mischa Barton) sneaks off one night to snoop through her fiancé's storage unit on the seedy outskirts of town. But deep in the lower levels of the warehouse, Ella and a half dozen storage unit customers discover there's more than old furniture and memorabilia being locked away here. A relentless psychopath has started his own ‘collection', and unless Ella and the others can survive the blood-soaked rampage of the Hoarder, and find a way out of the maze-like building, they'll never see the light of another day.

ANIMATION


Ratchet and Clank Director: Jericca Cleland Written by: T.J. Fixman Starring: James A. Taylor, David Kaye, Jim Ward Plot Synopsis: Ratchet and Clank tells the story of two unlikely heroes as they struggle to stop a vile alien named Chairman Drek from destroying every planet in the Solana Galaxy.
