November Rains With Thrillers


And action! It's Friday and you cannot wish for a quiet weekend. Especially when there are new action movies on the radar. Though November doesn't distinguish itself for this genre, still seven new action/thriller movies welcome you to the cinema theatres. So start checking the list!

Starring: Benedict Cumberbatch, Chiwetel Ejiofor, Rachel McAdams Plot Synopsis: Stephen Strange is a world-renowned but selfish neurosurgeon, until a car accident damaged his hands, preventing him from conducting surgery. Depressed and scouring the world for a cure to his condition, Strange locates a hermit called the Ancient One in the Himalayas. After Strange selflessly attempts to thwart the Ancient One's traitorous disciple, Baron Mordo, he is taught the mystic arts. As the Ancient One's disciple, Strange encounters the entity Nightmare and a number of odd mystical foes, before battling his eventual arch-foe: Dormammu, a warlord from an alternate dimension called the Dark Dimension.

Director: Paul Shrader Written by: Paul Shrader Starring: Nicolas Cage, Willem Dafoe Plot Synopsis: The film is a gritty contemporary crime thriller about a trio of ex-cons who are hired for a kidnapping. When the botched abduction goes awry and gets completely out of control, the cons find themselves on the run, vowing to stay out of prison at all costs.

Director: Steven Shainberg Written by: Brian Nelson, Steven Shainberg Starring: Noomi Rapace, Peter Stormare, Michael Chiklis, Kerry Bishe, Lesley Manville, Ari Millen Plot Synopsis: Renee Morgan (Noomi Rapace), a single mom who lives with her twelve-year-old son Evan in a quiet suburban home, is terrified of spiders. Unbeknownst to both, their every move is being observed. While running her daily errands her car breaks down and she is violently kidnapped by a group of strangers. About 24 hours later, in an anonymous laboratory, she is tied up and questioned about her medical history, including her great fear of spiders. Soon her captors explain to her that with her genetic abnormality can potentially allow her to Rupture in which her own alien nature can be released. Through the experience of one's deepest fear (in Renee's case spiders) causes this transforming her into her true self.

Director: Denis Villeneuve Written by: Eric Heisserer, Ted Chiang Starring: Amy Adams, Jeremy Renner, Forest Whitaker, Michael Stuhlbarg, Tzi Ma, Mark Obrien Plot Synopsis: When mysterious spacecrafts touch down across the globe, an elite team - lead by expert linguist Louise Banks (Amy Adams) - is brought together to investigate. As mankind teeters on the verge of global war, Banks and the team race against time for answers - and to find them, she will take a chance that could threaten her life, and quite possibly humanity.

Director: Farren Blackburn Written by: Christina Hodson Starring: Naomi Watts, Jacob Tremblay, Olivier Platt, David Cubitt, Crystal Balint, Charlie Heaton, Tim Post, Ellen David, Celmentine Poidatz, Alex Braustein Plot Synopsis: A heart-pounding thriller about a widowed child psychologist (Naomi Watts) who lives in an isolated existence in rural New England. Caught in a deadly winter storm, she must find a way to rescue a young boy before he disappears forever.

Director: Jeff Wadlow Written by: Jeff Morris Starring: Kevin James, Andy Garcia, Zulay Henao, Kelen Coleman, Rob Riggle, Leonard Earl Howze, Kim Coates, Maurice Compte, Andrew Howard Plot Synopsis: The action comedy stars Kevin James as Sam Larson, a mild-mannered would-be author who gets mistaken for a killer-for-hire when his fictional novel about an international assassin is published as a true story. When the book is a huge success, he is suddenly kidnapped, taken out of the country, and forced into an assassination plot.

Director: James Watkins, Jill Gage Written by: Andrew Baldwin Starring: Idris Elba, Richard Madden, Kelly Reilly, Anatol Yusef, Charlotte Le Bon Plot Synopsis: Michael Mason (Richard Madden) is an American pickpocket living in Paris who finds himself in the hands of the CIA when he steals a bag that contains more than just a wallet. Sean Briar (Idris Elba), the field agent on the case, soon realizes that Michael is just a pawn in a much bigger game and is also his best asset to uncover a large-scale criminal conspiracy in the heart of the police force. Going against commands, Briar recruits Michael to help quickly track down the source of the corruption. As a 24hr chase ensues, the unlikely duo discover they are both targets and must rely upon each other in order to take down a common enemy.
