Biennale Arte 2017 in Venice By Artists And For Artists

If you look forward to your trip to Northern Italy from May onwards, be sure to include the visit to the 57th International Art Exhibition - Biennale Arte 2017 in Venice. This year it is titled VIVA ARTE VIVA and will take place May 13 through November 26.

The Exhibition will also include 87 National Participations in the historic Pavilions at the Giardini, at the Arsenale and in the historic city centre of Venice. Four countries will be participating for the first time: Antigua and Barbuda, Kiribati, Nigeria and Kazakhstan (for the first time with its own national pavilion).

The exhibition will focus on arts and artist. According to Christine Macel, curator of Biennale Arte 2017, "VIVA ARTE VIVA is an exclamation, a passionate outcry for art and the state of the artist. VIVA ARTE VIVA is a Biennale designed with artists, by artists and for artists, about the forms they propose, the questions they ask, the practices they develop and the ways of life they choose."

The visitors will have an opportunity to explore nine Trans-Pavilions: the Pavilion of Artists and Books, the Pavilion of Joys and Fears, The Pavilion of the Common, the Pavilion of the Earth, the Pavilion of Traditions, the Pavilion the Shamans, the Dionysian Pavilion, the Pavilion of Colours and the Pavilion of Time and Infinity.

In addition, during the whole duration of the Exhibition, activities pertinent to all the Biennale’s sectors will be expected: in June, the 11th International Festival of Contemporary Dance; in July and August, the 45th International Theatre Festival; between late August and early September, the 74th Venice International Film Festival; in October, the 61st International Festival of Contemporary Music; not to mention the important “college” activities which have been organized in each sector. Many of these initiatives will take place at the Arsenale, inside the venues of the International Art Exhibition itself.

So all artists' ways will definitely lead to Venice again. Don't miss a chance to feel their spirit yourselves!
