Love In All Its Forms Awaits In New July Drama

The biggest drama you may encounter in July is if you're on vacation and the weather is not going to give you any promises of a sunshine and clear blue skies. That is a real disaster, you think. Well, let's hope this isn't happening for neither of you and the only drama you can imagine of is one reaching out for you from the big screens.

Midsummer is not the best period for filmmakers, so there's no surprise July is not over-showering with its new repertoire for cinema theatres. Only twenty new movies are being released this month, only seven of them categorized as drama entries. Nevertheless, take a glance and find a break between a cool sea wave and a mohito at sunset for a good new movie.

Plot Synopsis: Recently deceased, a white-sheeted ghost (Casey Affleck) returns to his suburban home to console his bereft wife (Rooney Mara), only to find that in his spectral state he has become unstuck in time, forced to watch passively as the life he knew and the woman he loves slowly slip away. Increasingly unmoored, the ghost embarks on a cosmic journey through memory and history, confronting life’s ineffable questions and the enormity of existence. An unforgettable meditation on love and grief, A Ghost Story emerges ecstatic and surreal - a wholly-unique experience that lingers long after the credits roll.

Plot Synopsis: Bestselling novelist, Bill Oakland (Alec Baldwin) loses his wife and his sight in a vicious car crash. Five years later Socialite Suzanne Dutchman (Demi Moore) is forced to read to Bill in an intimate room three times a week as a plea bargain for being associated with her husband (Dylan McDermott)'s insider trading. A passionate affair ensues, forcing them both to question whether or not it's ever too late to find true love. But when Suzanne's husband is let out on a technicality, she is forced to choose between the man she loves and the man she built a life with.

Plot Synopsis: Rural England, 1865. Katherine (Florence Pugh) is stifled by her loveless marriage to a bitter man twice her age, and his cold, unforgiving family. When she embarks on a passionate affair with a young worker on her husband's estate, a force is unleashed inside her so powerful that she will stop at nothing to get what she wants.

Plot Synopsis: Ellen (Lily Collins) is an unruly, 20-year-old anorexic girl who spent the better part of her teenage years being shepherded through various recovery programs, only to find herself several pounds lighter every time. Determined to find a solution, her dysfunctional family agrees to send her to a group home for youths, which is led by Dr. William Beckham (Keanu Reeves), a non-traditional doctor. Surprised by the unusual rules - and charmed by her fellow patients - Ellen has to discover for herself how to confront her addiction and attempt self-acceptance, in order to stand a chance against her demons.

Plot Synopsis: After the boss (Willem Dafoe) of a Chicago-based headhunter, Dane Jensen (Gerard Butler), who works at the Blackrock Recruiting agency arranging jobs for engineers, retires, Jensen finally achieves his longtime goal of taking over the company after going head-to-head with his ambitious rival, Lynn Vogel (Alison Brie). However, upon taking over the company he worked so hard to be in control of, Dane's 10-year-old son, Ryan (Max Jenkins), is suddenly diagnosed with cancer and his professional priorities at work and personal priorities at home begin to clash with one another.

Plot Synopsis: During a single day in New York City, a variety of characters grapple with the mundane, the unexpected, and the larger questions permeating their lives. An investigative reporter struggles with her first day on the job, despite help from her misguided boss; a rebellious teen attempts to balance her feminist ideals with other desires; and a young man seeks to reconcile with his ex-girlfriend, even as her brother threatens revenge. Meanwhile, an avid music lover traverses the city in search of a rare record for his vinyl collection.

Plot Synopsis: The film centers around a love affair between Dr. Miguel Leon (Javier Bardem), a relief-aid doctor, and Dr. Wren Petersen (Charlize Theron), the director of an international aid organization. Set against the devastating backdrop of war-torn Liberia, Miguel and Wren must find a way to keep their relationship alive in extraordinarily difficult conditions battling their mutual passion for the value of life matched by the intensity of their diametrically opposed opinions on how best to solve the conflict that surrounds them.
