Spooky First Month Of This Year In Cinemas

This January is going to be rather horrible... if you try to watch all scary movies reaching cinema theatres this month. Even seven new horror stories are going to threaten your stable psyche on chilly winter nights. Don't bother reading any further, if you're not a fan of jeepers creepers. However, if adrenaline starts pumping up in your system and goosebumps form out of excitement, explore the list of the newest horror movies:

Plot Synopsis: The paths of multiple serial killers cross over one single, blood soaked night. Which psychopath will survive through to morning? Follow the soul of a recently executed serial killer as he descends back to earth and possesses his many followers beneath the full moon. There's Alice, an escaped mental patient who thinks she's living in the 1950s glamour world, Blondie, a beautiful seductress who lures men down into her suburban basement, the Midnight Strangler, first seen claiming a victim in a seedy hotel, and an enigmatic masked contract killer who stalks the city with his own deadly agenda.

Plot Synopsis: A small group of military personnel and survivalists dwell in an underground bunker as they seek to find a cure in a world overrun by zombies. Zoe Parker (Sophie Skelton), a former medical student, is tormented by a dark figure from her past, a half-human/half-zombie hell-bent on destroying her.

Plot Synopsis: The creative minds behind the hit Insidious trilogy return. In the supernatural thriller, which welcomes back franchise standout Lin Shaye as Dr. Elise Rainier, the brilliant parapsychologist faces her most fearsome and personal haunting yet: in her own family home.

Plot Synopsis: Following the internationally acclaimed The Orphanage, The Others, and Mama, Inside is a high-tension thriller, from the original minds behind Spain's female-driven genre movement, that preys on its audience's worst fears. Young mother-to-be Sarah is trying to rebuild her broken life: recently widowed in a shattering car crash that left her partially deaf, with her baby's birth uncomfortably long overdue and alone, unpacking in unfamiliar surroundings having just moved home. She can only just stay afloat. As night descends on her deserted suburban street, there's an unexpected arrival at the doorstep: Sarah receives a most unwelcome visitor. Alone and carrying her baby, Sarah faces a calculating, cold-hearted and predatory woman – an adversary who will stop at nothing to snatch her unborn child. Trapped and disorientated, barely able to hear the evil that stalks her, Sarah must unleash all her reserves of strength to protect her baby and survive the night.

Plot Synopsis: A teenage girl and her little brother must survive a wild 24 hours during which a mass hysteria of unknown origins causes parents to turn violently on their own kids.

Plot Synopsis: Alex (Gabrielle Haugh) is a typical teenage girl who lives with her sick grandmother, Anna (Lin Shaye). While searching through the attic, Alex finds directions to a game, which played properly, will awaken ‘The Midnight Man' (Kyle Strauts), an evil being who will make your worst nightmare come true. At first, Alex and her friends think the game is harmless fun. It is - until The Midnight Man comes to play…for real. When Dr. Goodberry (horror legend Robert Englund) comes to the house to check on Anna, he can sense The Midnight Man's presence, and warns the kids that when The Midnight Man comes to play, he plays to win.

Plot Synopsis: A newly reunited young couple's drive through the Pacific Northwest turns into a nightmare as they are forced to face nature, unsavory locals, and a monstrous creature, known to the Native Americans as Oh-Mah. This is the directorial debut from seasoned special effects artist, Patrick Magee of Magee FX.
