Shake Off The Snow With New January Action And Thriller

Just one more month to go and farewell to hibernation. At least it seems so. Despite all kinds of winter fun and holidays, every cell of your body stalls resisting to any flick or jerk unnecessary to your direct survival. But try to tame your mind and muscles by a simple film session featuring an action movie or thriller. January has brought a number of fine pieces to the cinema theatres. So, if you still haven't seen any of the following, be our guest:

Plot Synopsis: A thriller built around a relentlessly ticking clock and a rapidly approaching deadline and verdict. A kidnapping, broadcast live on social media, turns into the trial of a judge who presided over a botched criminal case. This time, however, the audience gets to play judge and jury, deciding if the judge himself gets to live or die.

Plot Synopsis: This is a psychological thriller about six strangers who find themselves in circumstances beyond their control and must use their wits to find the clues or die.

Plot Synopsis: On an uninhabited island 20 miles from the rugged Scottish coast, three lighthouse keepers arrive for their six-week shift. As Thomas (Peter Mullan), James (Gerard Butler) and Donald (Connor Swindells) settle into their usual, solitary routines, something unexpected and potentially life-changing occurs - they stumble upon something that isn't theirs to keep. Where did it come from? Who does it belong to? A boat appears in the distance that might hold the answer to these questions…

Plot Synopsis: In this sci-fi thriller, neuro-scientist William Foster (Keanu Reeves) is on the verge of successfully transferring human consciousness into a computer when his family is tragically killed in a car crash. Desperate to resurrect them, William recruits fellow scientist Ed Whittle (Thomas Middleditch) to help him secretly clone their bodies and create replicas. But he soon faces a 'Sophie’s choice' when it turns out that they can only bring three of the four family members back to life.

Plot Synopsis: Sam (Noomi Rapace) is the world's toughest female bodyguard, tasked with protecting high profile targets for terrorism and assassination. She fought her way to the top in a man's world and feels more at home in the war zones of Sudan than back at her L.A. apartment. When she's assigned to protect a VIP in Morocco, she thinks she's in for a quick and easy job. That VIP turns out to be Zoe (Sophie Nélisse), a young and very rich heiress who's never left her bubble of wealth and who isn't keen on being baby sat. Sam can take a bullet for a president, but young privileged girls aren't her specialty - especially a spoiled one. When Zoe's bulletproof, secluded compound comes under attack in an explosive kidnapping attempt, Sam's skills are put to the test.

Plot Synopsis: M. Night Shyamalan brings together the narratives of two of his standout originals - 2000’s Unbreakable and 2016’s Split - in one explosive, all-new comic-book thriller. Bruce Willis returns as David Dunn as does Samuel L. Jackson as Elijah Price, known also by his pseudonym Mr. Glass. Joining from Split are James McAvoy, reprising his role as Kevin Wendell Crumb and the multiple identities who reside within, and Anya Taylor-Joy as Casey Cooke, the only captive to survive an encounter with The Beast. Following the conclusion of Split, Glass finds Dunn pursuing Crumb’s superhuman figure of The Beast in a series of escalating encounters, while the shadowy presence of Price emerges as an orchestrator who holds secrets critical to both men.

Plot Synopsis: Tov Matheson (Hayden Christensen) is a war veteran with PTSD (post traumatic stress disorder) who perceives that the end of the world is coming. After establishing a relationship with a dubious Messiah (Harvey Keitel), he leaves his normal life and begins the construction of a shelter underground, training himself, in an extreme way, at the cost of losing everything and making people believe he is insane. When he also believes it, something extraordinary happens which makes the people around him question whether he is insane after all.

Plot Synopsis: The world's top assassin, Duncan Vizla, aka The Black Kaiser (Mads Mikkelsen), is settling into retirement when his former employer marks him as a liability to the firm. Against his will, he finds himself back in the game going head to head with an army of younger, faster, ruthless killers who will stop at nothing to have him silenced.
