One Battle After Another triumphed yesterday at 2026 EE BAFTA Film Awards snatching six prizes, including Best Film, Best Adapted Screenplay, Best Director (Paul Thomas Anderson), Beest Cinematography, Best Editing and Best Supporting Actor (Sean Penn).

Robert Aramayo delivered a performance of rare vulnerability and command in I Swear and surprised everybody by earning not only Rising Star but also Leading Actor award. Meanwhile Jessie Buckley’s Leading Actress win for Hamnet honored a portrayal of profound emotional resonance - delicate yet devastating. In the supporting categories, Wunmi Mosaku (Sinners) and Sean Penn (One Battle After Another) were recognized for performances that elevated their respective films with intensity and nuance.

Beyond the headline categories, Sinners earned recognition for its bold original screenplay and evocative score, while Sentimental Value triumphed in the international category. Animation found its champion in Zootropolis 2, while documentary filmmaking reached powerful heights with Mr. Nobody Against Putin. Hamnet was announced the Outstanding British Film.

Frankenstein swept the design fields with its immersive costumes, makeup, and production design, transforming gothic imagination into tactile reality. F1 captured the raw sensory thrill of racing through its sound design, and Avatar: Fire and Ash pushed visual effects further into the realm of seamless spectacle.
