New May Action, Comedy, Horrow And Animation Movies
Today is the opening of the 75th Festival de Cannes but before we'll hear about the winners of the Palm d'Or, let's look through the new May releases, which are much more available to the public than Cannes screenings (as we've heard the rumours of constant crashes of the festival's online ticketing platform). Though May offers a rather modest list of new movie titles, there are definitely action, comedy, horror and animation movies worthy of your attention:
ACTION AND THRILLER
Plot Synopsis: Doctor Strange teams up with a mysterious teenage girl from his dreams who can travel across multiverses, to battle multiple threats, including other-universe versions of himself, which threaten to wipe out millions across the multiverse. They seek help from Wanda the Scarlet Witch, Wong and others.
Plot Synopsis: It is a Neo Western thriller set in the American southwest, following Sheriff Hickey trying to solve the worst case he has seen in his small town, likely caused by a violent local gang led by a fearsome criminal.
Plot Synopsis: After more than thirty years of service as one of the Navy's top aviators, Pete Mitchell is where he belongs, pushing the envelope as a courageous test pilot and dodging the advancement in rank that would ground him.
COMEDY
Plot Synopsis: A darkly comic feature about two best friends, Val (Carmichael) and Kevin (Christopher Abbott), on the last day of their lives.
Plot Synopsis: Ready for a night of legendary partying, three college students must weigh the pros and cons of calling the police when faced with an unexpected situation.
Plot Synopsis: A movie star enlists a parking valet at a Beverly Hills restaurant to pose as her lover to cover for her relationship with a married man.
HORROR
Plot Synopsis: A mother who needs to confront the unbearable truth about her surviving twin son.
Plot Synopsis: Story centers on a traumatized woman fleeing from her abusive ex-husband with her 7-year-old son. In their new, remote sanctuary they find they have a bigger, more terrifying monster to deal with.
ANIMATION
Plot Synopsis: Thirty years after their popular television show ended, chipmunks Chip and Dale live very different lives. When a cast member from the original series mysteriously disappears, the pair must reunite to save their friend.
Plot Synopsis: The Belchers try to save the restaurant from closing as a sinkhole forms in front of it, while the kids try to solve a mystery that could save their family's restaurant.
