One Battle After Another Dominates The 2026 Golden Globes

The 83rd Golden Globe Awards took place on Sunday, January 11, in Beverly Hills, bringing together stars, directors, and storytellers to celebrate the best in film and television. Comedian Nikki Glaser returned as host, guiding the evening through moments of excitement, humor, and surprise.


In film categories, One Battle After Another stole the show, winning Best Motion Picture - Musical or Comedy along with Best Director and Best Screenplay for Paul Thomas Anderson. Teyana Taylor also took home Best Supporting Actress, rounding out a night of recognition for the film’s sharp writing and powerful performances.


The drama category belonged to Hamnet, which won Best Motion Picture - Drama. Jessie Buckley earned Best Actress - Drama for her moving portrayal, anchoring the film’s emotional story of family and loss.


Other major acting awards celebrated a range of standout talent. Wagner Moura was named Best Actor - Drama for the Brazilian thriller The Secret Agent, which also received Best Non-English Language Film honors. In musical or comedy, Timothée Chalamet won Best Actor for Marty Supreme, while Rose Byrne earned Best Actress for If I Had Legs I’d Kick You. Stellan Skarsgård captured Best Supporting Actor for Sentimental Value.


Animated films and music also had their moment in the spotlight. KPop Demon Hunters took Best Animated Feature, and its song Golden won Best Original Song. Ludwig Göransson received Best Original Score for Sinners, which also earned special recognition for cinematic achievement.


Television also had a memorable night. The Pitt won Best Drama Series, while The Studio earned Best Musical or Comedy Series. Limited series Adolescence won multiple awards, including acting honors for Stephen Graham and Erin Doherty. Noah Wyle and Seth Rogen were recognized for their performances in drama and comedy series, while Jean Smart captured the award for Best Actress in a Comedy Series.


The ceremony also embraced new forms of storytelling with the introduction of a Best Podcast award, won by Amy Poehler’s Good Hang With Amy Poehler. Overall, the 2026 Golden Globes was a night that honored both seasoned stars and rising talent, reflecting the creativity and diversity that defined entertainment in 2025.
