Christmas Is About Comedy But Some Prefer Horror Instead

After Home Alone Christmas is nothing without a family comedy movie, which gathers everybody on the same coach and cuts all the tittle-tattle. Well, probably it's too much of a cliché about the above mentioned statement. But still a merry vivacious film has never spoiled the party. However, if you're not into the moody seeing, take a look at new horror or science fiction releases. Perhaps they will rise your true Christmas spirit. Just don't become grumpy and don't steal the Christmas, as somebody had already attempted to.

COMEDY

Plot Synopsis: After saving Woodhaven from a gang of evil reptilian shapeshifters, alcoholic werewolf cop Lou Garou is finding it hard to keep a low profile. Instead, he roams the street at night, gleefully and violently disposing of criminals and stealing boxes of Liquor Donuts causing all sorts of problems for his former-partner-turned-chief Tina. Things begin to look up for the loser residents of Woodhaven when a billionaire businessman announces he's reopening the local brewery to produce Chicken Milk Stout, as well as gifting the town with its very own hockey team, the Darkstars. However, the unexpected return of an old friend (who now sports a large foul-mouthed mustachioed phallus) and a strip joint bloodbath alert Wolfcop to the rise of something evil to the town.

Plot Synopsis: When Eric Roth (Luke Grimes) goes on an impulsive journey to find the father he never knew, his search takes him to the remote desert town of El Camino, Nevada, where he's mistaken for a drug dealer by local, dim-witted law enforcement and winds up pinned down in a liquor store holdup with five other lost souls on Christmas Eve… one of which is his father.

Plot Synopsis: A comedy about bad hair, adolescence, and socially awkward family members. It involves life-altering permanents and poorly-made toupees. Obstacles to daily survival ensue.

Plot Synopsis: The story centers on fraternal twin brothers who find out that their mothers been lying to them for years about their allegedly deceased father and set out to find their real dad.

Plot Synopsis: Now graduated from college and out in the real world where it takes more than a cappella to get by, the Bellas return in the next chapter in the beloved series. After the highs of winning the World Championships, the Bellas find themselves split apart and discovering there aren’t job prospects for making music with your mouth. But when they get the chance to reunite for an overseas USO tour, this group of awesome nerds will come together to make some music, and some questionable decisions, one last time.

ANIMATION

Plot Synopsis: The film tells the story of a giant bull with a big heart. After being mistaken for a dangerous beast, he is captured and torn from his home. Determined to return to his family, he rallies a misfit team on the ultimate adventure. Set in Spain, Ferdinand proves you can’t judge a bull by its cover.

HORROR

Plot Synopsis: Alice (Maggie Q) is a rational-minded sleep doctor, haunted by the mysterious nocturnal death of her younger brother. Whilst performing a routine examination on a traumatized family with sleeping problems, Alice is attacked by the father in his sleep. The father is arrested and blamed for causing the family's sleep issues, but when he is thrown into jail and the problems get progressively worse, Alice is forced to abandon scientific rationale and accept that the family is being terrorized by a parasitic demon who feeds on the weak whilst they sleep: the Night Hag. In order to defeat the dark spirit who was also responsible for her brother's death, Alice must journey into her own nightmares and confront her childhood demons.

Plot Synopsis: A young mother, her son, and her best friend venture into the remote wilderness to scatter her late husband's ashes. On their trek home, they begin to realize that a lone hiker has been following them. A series of disturbing encounters forces the grieving family to confront their deepest fears when the stranger's true motives are revealed.

SCIENCE FICTION

Plot Synopsis: A dark and desolate forest. Somewhere. Sometime. The Nonesuch - eerie, overpowering alien creatures - have forced humanity into hiding in a vast system of underground bunkers. From this underworld the survivors send young soldiers to lookout posts on the surface to protect the few remaining stragglers. S.U.M.1, a committed young man who has lived his whole life underground, reports to his 100 day-task. He enters an alien and hostile world. His mission is to guard an automatic defense circle that keeps the Nonesuch at bay. As the news report of frequent, devastating attacks, the routine military operation slowly becomes a nightmare. Isolation and paranoia begin to eat away at the young soldier's mind. Are the Nonesuch truly hiding in the dark forest waiting to strike at any moment or is S.U.M.1 being pushed into madness?
