Catch Up With January Family, Comedy And Horror Movies

There's nothing to miss about January, except the movies you haven't seen yet. Though February is tempting with new ones, time to look back at a bunch of comedy, horror, science fiction and family movies released last month, which probably remained in the shadow of all the splendor of mighty nominees to all sorts of cinema awards. However, sometimes everything you need is one hundred minutes of uncomplicated emotions.

COMEDY

Plot Synopsis: Twenty years after the events of Iron Sky, the former Nazi Moonbase has become the last refuge of mankind. Earth was devastated by a nuclear war, but buried deep under the wasteland lies a power that could save the last of humanity or destroy it once and for all. The truth behind the creation of mankind will be revealed when an old enemy leads our heroes on an adventure into the Hollow Earth. To save humanity they must fight the Vril, an ancient shapeshifting reptilian race and their army of dinosaurs.

Plot Synopsis: This is a heartfelt comedy about a recently paroled ex-convict (Kevin Hart) who strikes up an unlikely friendship with a paralyzed billionaire (Bryan Cranston).

HORROR

Plot Synopsis: From the creator of the Final Destination franchise comes a new twisted tale of death. With the unexpected passing of his father, Aaron (Michael Welch) tries to come to terms with his grief while supporting his devastated mother (Lin Shaye). Sifting through his father's belongings, Aaron comes upon an Urn that is far more than it seems. As his wants and wishes start coming true, Aaron thinks his prayers have been answered until he realizes the price of this good fortune is much more than he bargained for.

SCIENCE FICTION

Plot Synopsis: Sam (Margaret Qualley), one of the last survivors on a post-cataclysmic Earth, is a young scientist dedicated to finding a way for humans to adapt and survive, rather than abandon their world. But with the final shuttle scheduled to leave the planet for a distant colony, her determination to stay is rocked by the arrival of another survivor, Micah (Anthony Mackie). She must decide whether to journey with him to join the rest of humanity and begin life anew, or stay to fight for Earth's survival.

FAMILY

Plot Synopsis: A Dog's Way Home chronicles the heartwarming adventure of Bella, a dog who embarks on an epic 400-mile journey home after she is separated from her beloved human.

When Kingley starts to see images from his past that he can't explain, he is forced to remember his long-forgotten childhood, growing up on an isolated coastline with his father. He recounts to his grand-daughter the story of how, as a boy, he rescued and raised an extraordinary orphaned pelican, Mr Percival. Their remarkable adventures and very special bond has a profound effect on all their lives.

Plot Synopsis: Alex (Ashbourne Serkis) thinks he’s just another nobody, until he stumbles upon the mythical Sword in the Stone, Excalibur. Now, he must unite his friends and enemies into a band of knights and, together with the legendary wizard Merlin (Stewart), take on the wicked enchantress Morgana (Ferguson). With the future at stake, Alex must become the great leader he never dreamed he could be.

ANIMATION

Plot Synopsis: 20,000 years into the future, the Earth is ruled by Godzilla. Pitted against him are the straggling remnants of the human race. The final chapter finds the Mechagodzilla city, the peak of scientific evolution and mankind's best hope, burned to cinders. Godzilla Earth reigns supreme but he has one more challenge: the winged creature, KING GHIDORAH.

Plot Synopsis: After Superman is put to rest, following his battle with Doomsday, his body is stolen from its tomb. As authorities investigate, new and completely different Supermen start appearing on the scene, making everyone wonder if Superman has been reincarnated, and if so, which of the new Supermen is the real Man-of-Steel?
